Tonight I was in the mood for something sweet so I made mini cheesecakes with a twist! Recipe: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/mini-cheesecakes-2/detail.aspx
I skipped the cherry pie filling and put in 1/3 cup of chocolate/peanut butter chips. And made my own crust instead of the wafers. I used 9 graham crackers, 2tbls butter and 1 tbls sugar.

Onion Rings: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/baked-onion-rings/detail.aspx
Lastly is the sugar cookies. I chose this one because it did not require the use of shortening or vegetable oil. Follow this exactly.

October 6th-Potato soup and french bread
1st photo is Potato Soup-Recipe is as follows: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/cheesiest-potato-soup/detail.aspx The changes I made: I sauteed the onion and bacon( added) in butter and white wine(just a splash), boiled potatoes in water vs stock as I was out, Added milk instead of creme, added mozzarella and cheddar cheese. The changes were simple and easy. As long as you have the key ingredients you can make this recipe how YOU would like.
2nd photo is French bread from scratch-Recipes is as follows: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/french-bread-2/detail.aspx. I made this recipe exactly as follows with one exception-I did it all by hand. Results are the same either way. I simply used my mixer. I mixed the yeast and warm water together (set aside), Added ALL dry ingredients mixed of a few seconds then added yeast water and mixed well but do not overly mix. I took out of mixer and cut dough in half so I could make two loaves. Knead dough, shape and set in pan to rise with a damp towel over the loaves. Set aside for 30 minutes than bake in oven at 375 for 35 minutes.
